Is it possible for me to own a Labrador retriever if my dad has allergies?

- Extra care and grooming will be taken when dog is shedding more heavily
- Will not be allowed to go in dads bedroom
- Have a HEPA filter for the family room
- Will receive minimum contact with my dad for my dad is not home alot and the dog will most likely be with me most of the time
Aussie grooming tips for a novice?
Posted by: | CommentsI got my australian shepherd about 6 months ago and he is 3 years old. I would really prefer to groom and clip him myself rather than pay to have him groomed (especially since I am looking for a new job and don’t have much cash to spare) but I have never owned a dog that required any sort of real grooming (I’ve had boxers, dobies and great danes in the past). His coat seems to be longer and more wavy than aussies I’ve met in the past if that makes a difference.
Even if you don’t have any breed specific advice – what do I need to know to start grooming him myself? What tools do I need? Any resources you can point me to?

should the furminator be used for normal weekly grooming?
Posted by: | Commentsor only when the dogs is blowing coat? will it work on a samoyed on his weekly brushing when he’s not blowing coat? the site makes it sound like they only use it when the dogs are shedding since its a deshedding tool but can u use it like a normal brush for weekly grooming

Dog bathing and flea help? anyone and pro groomers?
Posted by: | CommentsOk, now’s the time to groom my dogs and I’m gonna do it tomorrow. BUT, i’ll need to know some things. I’m bathing them for fleas, then bubble bath. But I have a flea shampoo to use, but I don’t know what shampoo to use for the bubble bath. I would like to try human shampoo. Is this all right? I know what to do and the steps but not this tool. Oh, and I’m grooming 3 dogs tomorrow if that helps.
