Posted by: | CommentsI have been feeding my dogs NutroMax Large Breed Adult for nearly a year now, but since starting this food, they SHED LIKE CRAZY. I’m talking, my dog walks by and there is hair following her in the wind. I know Nutro is supposed to help with shedding, but I’ve read accounts that sometimes it doesn’t help.
I just bought a bag of IAMS Large Breed (it’s a bright green bag), and they seem to really like it. I honestly bought it because I couldn’t get to the store that sells Nutro before they closed. What is the best food to reduce shedding? I know all dogs shed, but this is crazy… Thanks!
They have been eating Nutro for about 11 months. They didn’t shed this bad before. It’s both dogs too. One is a lab retriever, and the other is a yellow lab/greyhound mix. They didn’t shed this much when I was feeding them regular old Dog Chow or whatever it was – they stopped eating their old food, so I bought a better food (nutro) after doing some research.

Posted by: | Commentsmy dog sheds like crazy, i know its the season so i was wondering if shaving him really short-not bald- would help? i know then he would just shed short hair but maybe that would be better than long hair? anyone that has done this id like to hear the outcome! thanks!
Why is my dog shedding so much hair?
Posted by: | CommentsMy dogs have always shed hair, but now the male is shedding so much. I could pat him, and pull my hand away covered in hair. Being near him, I get dog hair all over my clothes, and there are bundles of dog hair floating around the back yard and inside our house. It’s getting out of control. Could someone please help me with a solution to this?? Thanks a lot.

Posted by: | CommentsOne my dogs sheds a lot. Her hair is coarse and thick. She’s a very mixed breed and also craves craves craves (Begs) food which makes me wonder if she’s deficient in something.
Both of my dogs eat iams w/o a schedule, that is to say, they eat from a constantly refilling source. ( I don’t know what that’s called).
The shedder will eat almost anything including fruits, vegetables, cardboard, and even dollar bills.
Her diet is 99.9% Iams which may or may not be providing what she needs.
If i could reduce the shedding somehow, that would be great.
She’s not shedding so much that she needs a vet..
She’s not ill. Just has a lot of surface area and a lot of hair.
