Dog bathing and flea help? anyone and pro groomers?

By

Ok, now’s the time to groom my dogs and I’m gonna do it tomorrow. BUT, i’ll need to know some things. I’m bathing them for fleas, then bubble bath. But I have a flea shampoo to use, but I don’t know what shampoo to use for the bubble bath. I would like to try human shampoo. Is this all right? I know what to do and the steps but not this tool. Oh, and I’m grooming 3 dogs tomorrow if that helps.

Never use human products on dogs. Its not made for their skin pH and will dry out their skin.

Use a good quality flea shampoo, but do not use human products on animals. They’re not intended for use on animals. Get dog/puppy shampoo. If you’re concerned about fleas, also get some flea drops such as Advantix or Frontline, and possibly some flea powder if you have a bad flea problem. To help the flea problem otherwise, there are some flea powders you can sprinkle on the carpet, liquid spray for immediate elimination of bugs outside, and a granule you can spread through your yard.

If the dogs do not have fleas, don’t use flea shampoo. If they do have fleas, its OK to just use flea shampoo and not do a second “bubble bath.” Any flea shampoo–not flea dip–will clean as well. Flea _dips_ are not considered safe anymore.

Do not use human shampoo. If you absolutely cannot go buy dog shampoo then use Johnson’s baby shampoo.

You can use Baby Shampoo for now, but in the future get dog shampoo. Baby Shampoo won’t dry his skin out as quick as other human shampoo. 3 dogs? Don’t get wet!
