omg I think my bunny has a hairball?
Byshe is eating and it sounds like she is chocking/hacking… this has never happened before. its 3am. what can I do? should I buy hairball remedy tommarow? she has plenty of alfalfa hay and timmothy hair (which I heard helps in digestion/hairballs)

butter will help the hair slide down its throat so it’ll clear up. seriously. just a small ammount.

Your bunny will probably resolve the problem without any help. If he is still choking or coughing when you check him in the morning, take him to a veterinarian.

there is some product, malt paste or malt something that you feed the bunny a couple times a week to help with the hairballs. since that has not been happening, you should take the bunny to the vet for medical assistance.

bunnies can get hairballs if they have long hair. do you see her grooming herself a lot. cause even with short hair, when their shedding and groom their fur, they’ll get hair in there mouth and swallow it then in doesn’t sit right then it comes back up dry. I think you can cure that by making sure the bunny has and is drinking enough water. Oh and it doesn’t hurt them. but if it happens more then once a week take her to the vet. cause if she does do it more then once a week it will hurt her throat. and we all no that doesn’t feel very good at all.
