That’s what I use on my dogs. Either that or tear free dog shampoo. I don’t want to sting their eyes. I use conditioner on them too to make their fur soft.
Yes People shampoo(tearless or not) is made to react with our skin and hair, which tends to be more acidic than the skin of dogs. We had a family come into our clinic with their Bassett puppy, where the skin got all raw, and the eyes were very irritated, from the lower pH shampoo. (They had used Johnson’s Baby Shampoo)
If your only using the shampoo to keep the dog clean so he does’nt start to look dingy and smell then regualr shampoo will. The only difference is in the flea control shampoo. I normally use a childrens tear free shampoo on my boxer because he likes to roll in the dirt and mud. In the 8 years that I have owned my dog I have never once used a dog shampoo on him. I have been using childrens tear free shampoo for full 8 years because my vet informed it would’nt hurt the dog because the ingredients are the same in each product.
yes, dog shampoo if of good qulaity contints things in it to keep the dogs coat from drying out or becoming irratated. Some also prevent fleas and ticks. regular shampoo contains other thing, some that the dog may be alllergic to. Others will dry out the fur. It is always best to talk to the vet or groomer on which brand to buy. Otherwise try PETCO or PETSMART they can help you find one that is right from your dog
I wouldn’t use baby shampoo – it is really high in PH and will make their skin dry -especially in the winter. I wouldn’t even use baby shampoo on my hair!!
If you want to use human shampoo, use something that is ‘green’ meaning it has few chemicals in it, and no perfumes.
yes,dog shampoo has some stuff that will kill fleas/ticks in it hair and regular shampoo has stuff that can do many things to your hair.it can fluff it out, smooth in it,or make it tangle free.there are alot of differences between dog shampoo and regular shampoo.Hope you found all the information your looking for.GOOD LUCK ON OTHER STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dog shampoos are made for dogs.Human shampoo is made for humans. We all have different types of hair that is why there are so many different shampoos. Its probably best to use dog shampoo because it is made especially for dogs and is probably the safest.
i use human shampoo on my dogs. I’ve never had a problem with it. just make sure that you rinse i all out because it could dry there skin out to much. now if your dog as ticks then i would advise getting flee and tick medication.

Human shampoos have more detergents in them, Baby shampoo is the worst drying shampoo there is.
