I don’t believe that it can travel through his saliva, I think that it only travels through their feces.

It is really contagious and it spreads all over the animal and to humans, also. It is spread by contact not saliva.

no but if he has been licking at the affected area and gets spores on his muzzle, it could spread. This spreads really easily. here is some more info

It is a fungus that lives on the skin and spreads in the air when the spores become airborne!! I assume you are talking about Ringworm and not Roundworm which lives in the intestine and is spread in the feces. If it is Ringworm, people and any other furred animal can get it. The spores can live in your house for up to 18 months. You can treat lesions with Athletes foot cream.
If it is roundworm you are talking about, a simple wormer will do the trick a lot easier than clearing up Ringworm!!!!

Ringworm does not come from the bite of a Raccoon!!! That is totally stupid. That would be RABIES!!!!

Yes it can spread! You need to get it look at by a vet. Humans can get it to. It can take awhile to treat. Good Luck!

I think some poeple were confused when they answered you because ringworm is not an actual worm but a fungus (forms on the skin as a dry round ring, usually the hair will fall off where these spots are present). And it can be spread through contact with others(not through saliva)…and yes it can be spread to humans! Go see your vet, you will need some ointment to treat it!
**Good luck

ring worms get spread by touching
DON”T TOUCH IT AND IF U DO WASH HANDS FAST

No it does not travel through saliva or feces. It spreads through contact with spores, either on the animal, or in the environment. It is NOT a worm it is a fungus.

You need to have this treated by your vet, it is highly contagious. Put a shirt on your dog to help contain spread of spores, they can live in soil up to six months and survive freezing temps.

At home Lysol or bleach everything. Keep your dog contained to one area of the home and yard to minimize spore spread.

Wash your hands, and even change clothes after handling your dog. If you develop a red itchy spot, cover with a band aid again to minimize spore spread, and have your doc look at it.

Its a nasty bugger to get rid, but its possible.I’ve done it.
