A case of Failing to research the breed? Bloodhounds DROOL big time, No medication will stop the drooling. NEXT TIME find a dog that doesn’t drool much if you can’t stand DROOL, as all dogs DO drool, those that drool exccessively due to there loose lips are bloodhounds, rottweilers, bassethounds etc

Slobbering. Most people are not prepared for how much Bloodhounds slobber and drool, especially after eating and drinking. You will be toweling saliva and slime off your clothes, furniture, and walls.

This is why it so important to do RESEACH before YOU go out and BUY a dog

Nope, it won’t ever end. Blood Hounds and Basset Hounds are known as the drool breeds.

This is inherent to the breed so there’s nothing that can be done about it. You may want to contact some breeders and find out how to put your dog up for adoption by someone interested in giving a home to an older Bloodhound.

Wow… did you know NOTHING about the breed before getting one?

Poor dog… I don’r see this ending well for it.

Starring for one of my contacts who raises Bloodhounds…

Slobber rags. What kind of research did you do? Bloodhounds are famous for their drool. either accept it, or find a bloodhound rescue.

You have GOT to be kidding me.
Bloodhounds will drool.
I have many of them in my household.
Did you think they DIDNT drool before you got him?
They will drool their entire lives.

Not to mention.. with this breed.. the Drool should be the LEAST of your worries.
And if the drool smells, I suggest you get him into a vet, because dog is breath might not be the most impressing smell, but it should not stink either.. go to a vet and have his teeth cleaned if necessary.
But you cannot drug your dog because you werent responsible enough to do your research before getting this “high maintenance” breed.
