What are some good tips on keeping a dog from shedding a lot?
ByI am thinking of getting a Pekingese dog. I have heard that they shed a lot, and my dad doesn’t want fur everywhere. What are some good tips on keeping a dog from shedding a lot?

i have 7 collies and we keep on top of it by getting a pet hoover an expensive one and also a furminator, it takes out the second coat and is brilliant, its expensive but boy it saves a lot of time.
Also you have to think of it getting tangled so its worth spending just a bit of money on the correct tools, try ebay for the furminator x

Brush it every day, keep it clean and well groomed and buy good quality instruments to work with so you get the most out of your brushes.

Daily brushing and grooming will knock most of the fur down.
You might want to also consider one of the shedender brushes.

I wouldn’t use a furminator on a Peke. It will just damage their coat. I would just keep her clipped in a short kennel clip.

You can’t stop them from shedding. Feeding a high quality dog food helps along with daily brushes. During shedding season, my dog gets 2 brushes, once in the morning and once at night outside in the yard so the hair doesn’t get everywhere.
