Ringworm on my dog?
ByMy dog has a ringworm around her eye, I don’t see any other ones. She has a vet appointment tonight. Is there anything that I can use at home to get rid of it. I am leaving on vacation in 3 days, so I want to get rid of it as soon as I can.
I know its ring worm because she gave it to me, and I have it all over.
I do have a cat, but she has showed no signs of having ringworm.

Nothing over the counter, (that works). Keep your appointment, this is something you as well can get. Keep you hands washed.

How do you know its ringworm if you haven’t been to the vet.
Ringworm has no easy fix and treatment is going to be for more than three days. You may have a hard time finding someone to help treat the dog while you are gone consider rngworm can be caught by the person treating.

oh the eye is a hard area to treat…meds for jock itch or athletes foot work well… you can also use iodine it will kill the fungus… on your self use the same things but you can also use a diluted bleach water…
do you have a cat? They are usually the culprits
there is a med for ringworm but it can cause permanent liver damage
edit
a vet will prescribe a cream…it is the same cream you can buy over the counter for jock itch or athletes foot….
the above remedies were told to me by a vet..and believe me they work.. have used them on our horses, dogs and selves in the past

haha
cats alot of times WILL NOT show signs..they are just carriers of ringworm…
there is a ringworm vaccine that you can give your cat… you may never get it from her again or you might think you have it under control and 6 months later there it is again
GOOD LUCK>..ringworm can be a battle…and man does it itch

Ringworm is a highly contageous parasite that you cannot, I repeat, cannot cure at home. It requires some pretty inexpensive medication, and a quarrantine period of appoximately 21 days to make sure it is gone. I would suggest you attach some importance to this in your dog, as it will get worse very quickly if you don’t treat it properly. You may want to board your dog with the vet so this can be dealt with.
Cats can carry ringworm and never give any indication of it at all. Your cat needs to go to the vet as well.
