My dog scratches so much but he doesn’t have any external parasites. Help?

By

Hey guys, I just bought a new husky for my son 2 days ago. Well ever since we got him almost all the time he will just lay on the bad and scratch and chew himself all the time, he will even do it until he cries. We’ve checked him for fleas and we’ve only gotten 2 off of him, we’ve asked the people that own the pet store and they said the deflea and de everything else to their dogs. I bought “vets best vita derm skin and itch relief” for his dry skin because that’s what she said is the only solution. Is there anything else I can do? Will the skin and itch relief work. BY THE WAY he does have dry skin so how long will it take for the skin and itch relief to work. Thanks guys.

It only takes one flea bite to get a dog scratching and chewing if he’s allergic to flea bites. Likewise a poor diet high in grains will also cause dry skin as well as over bathing. Dry skin is caused by poor diets and over bathing. The scratching can be caused from flea bite dermatitis and/or dry skin. Instead of asking the pet store people, have your dog examined by a vet.

Take your dog to a Vet. You found 2 fleas that means he has fleas. He could have an allergy to them or to something else. It could be a reaction to a different environment. These are all different options so best bet is to take him to a Vet and get him checked over.

Finding a flea means he prob got bitten… where there is one there are others, and they can lay multiple eggs at a time, which leads to more fleas. Also, food allergies, allergies to flea treatment, etc. A Benadryl can help, and a vet can be a big help.
