Omega 3-6-9 capsules for dog dry skin?

By

My dog has a dry skin problem, scratches herself until she bleeds, I was wondering if I can give her an omega 3-6-9 capsule that I take daily? I have checked some pet websites and they want to sell you 3-6-9 capsules for dogs, is there really a difference?

I have provided the ingredient Information
Oils: Flax Oil 400 mg; Borage Oil 400 mg; Fish Oil 400 mg
Vitamins: Natural Vitamin E 10 IU
Active Compounds: Omega-3: Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) 53% 212 mg, Eicosapentaenoic (EPA) 18% 72 mg, Docosahexaenoic (DHA) 12% 48 mg; Omega-6 : Linoleic Acid (LA) 207 mg, Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) 18% 76 mg; Omega-9: Oleic Acid 173 mg

Thanks in advance for any advice !
I should also mention that I feed my dog homemade meals of chicken & lean ground beef, for one meal a day and her second meal is dry dog food.

I don’t think it would hurt your dog. I use Derm Caps oil. It’s Omega 3 and 6. It has helped tremendously.

ADD: I used fish oil and it did not give the results that the Derm Caps have given. I have heard that Salmon Oil is really good though, but haven’t wanted to quit the Derm Caps to try it. :o )

Fish oils are very good for your dogs skin

It will not hurt, but my vet told me that Fish oil is even better. You can buy Fish oil at any place where they sell vitamins. Just add some to your dog’s food (the amount depends on the size of the dog.) Call your vet and ask.

Probably will help but take her to the vet anyway. If its an allergy or mange or something its only gonna get worse.

I use Salmon oil. Your dog may have a food allergy. If there are a lot of grains, change food. Meat meal should be the first ingredient. My dogs are grain free only.
